Do you Two-Step?

Do You Two Step

Is this the two-step or am I doing it wrong?

I confessed last week that my food prep and eating has been less than ideal this summer. Well, I am happy to share that, with the help of my family, we really did a great job of getting back on track this week. We have a new strategy for meal prep (including the kids each responsible for a day!) and a re-newed planning schedule and grocery list tool. Two-steps forward… now for the bruises 🙁

Many of you know, I’ve been suffering from a skin allergy (?) that causes the skin around my eyes and eyelids to swell, crack and bleed! It seems my well-planned diet last week made it worse! I’m still exploring how to live vibrantly without resulting in a face that, as one student described, “looks like I’ve been punched in the face or ran into a wall”. Ouch!

Like many of you, I tend to down-play my own struggles and challenges in an effort to not be a burden to others. I learned this at a very early age. Maybe you’ve experienced the fear of “being too much” or “not being enough”? I KNOW we are all perfect in our imperfect-ness, but this can be hard to admit when we’ve reached our capacity and even harder still when we need to ask for help. At least it is for me. You?

How do you know when your life-dance is actually a “two-steps forward, one-step-back game” or you’re full on doing the two-step? For me, I can best SEE truth when I surround myself with people who know and love me, even when I’m at my worst. I call this living in Transparent Alignment (TM). TM is a philosophy I’ve developed and use in my teaching, coaching, parenting and daily work of living. It gives me a strategy for living, a language for sharing my intentions, and tools to measure how well I’m doing.

How do you learn the two-step if you’ve never danced? How do you re-learn to breathe if you don’t know of another way? How do you live vibrantly when you can’t even admit you’re not? You deserve to breathe deeply, move freely, labor lovingly and live vibrantly (and so do I!). To help me do this, I practice yoga and Transparent Alignment. You can too. What are you looking to create, cultivate, or develop in the coming weeks, months and years? I would love to help you declare that passion, create a strategy, and encourage you along the path. This is Life’sWork Coaching! Reply and let’s schedule a FREE 15-minute chat to see if this would be a good ft for you! I also lead two group coaching circles Women’s Circle for women (obviously, right?!?) and Guru Circle for wellness practitioners. Let me know if you’d like to learn more about these groups.

To demonstrate what it might be like to live in Transparent Alignment, I’d like to share a story of someone declaring their intention. A student came up to me today after class to give me a check for her full year of Membership. She said, “I am choosing to invest in myself and am making a commitment to do yoga for an entire year!” On her check memo she wrote: “I love myself!” WOW! Talk about living your values and committing to a strategy! We can all engage in activities that are nourishing and fun (like yoga!), and invest in self-care practices that help us reset and restore. If you need ideas, I can help!  What are you waiting for?

Breathe deeply, move freely, labor lovingly and live vibrantly,
